Things have really gone to the bottom with all of the politics and Covid-19 shutting things down. But now that we are returning to work we are noticing that not everything is normal and not everybody has been called back or will be called back.
I have preached for years to learn something new everyday. To take advantage of any type of company training and even to get training that you have to pay for yourself. Anything, so that you can advance in the job market and meet the new job demands. Get certified in anything pertaining to your field of employment or in areas that you want to move into.
I have seen with Industry 4.0 and the IIoT (Industrial Internet of Things) more robotics doing more of the work. They don't need breaks, they don't complain, they don't need heat or lights and they will work 24/7 for no pay or benefits.
I keep hearing from people that the robots are taking away our jobs. Yes and no. Face it folks, robots are here to stay but they are not taking away all jobs, they are actually creating more jobs than the ones that they are replacing. Learn to install, maintain and repair them. You don't have to go to MIT but you do need to get certified. Just check out this video from Tesla and what their robots are doing. Take special notice that this is all in house and amazing!
